An Egg-cellent time with the Big Egg Hunt in Liverpool

By Tom Dootson

The worlds biggest and most Egg-cellent easter egg hunt has made its way to the streets of Liverpool.

The Lindt Big Egg Hunt kicked off today with the help of Liverpudlian actress Clare Sweeney, and with over 100 eggs placed all around Liverpool One and the Albert Docks theres plenty of hunting to be done.

The eggs are helping raise vital funds for Action for Children, a charity which helps vulnerable children transform their lives from over 600 services across the UK.

The eggs began their journey in London and will go on to visit Manchester and Glasgow before heading back to London in time for Easter. The eggs will be in Liverpool till Tuesday the 5th of March. One of the eggs was designed by Vincent McEvoy, it features a blown up image from some 'Beatles Bubble Gum' memorabilia from America.

The hunt captured the imagination of the country last year when it landed in London for six weeks - setting two Guinness World Records, raising over £1 million for charity and engaging more than one million people.

Bay TV Liverpool talked with Clare Sweeney and Vincent McEvoy about the event.
