Two people arrested following a murder in Liverpool

A murder investigation has been launched in Liverpool after a man was stabbed to death.

Merseyside Police say they've arrested two people on suspicion of murder following the incident.

Officers were called to Brainerd Street in Tuebrook on Sunday lunchtime following reports a man had been attacked. They discovered in a man in his 30's with stab wounds. Detectives say despite the efforts of paramedics the man then died at the scene.

The victim has been named as 48 year old Karl Patrick O'Hara from Everton.

Two people have been arrested on suspicion of murder. A 33 year old man and a 40 year old woman are currently being questioned by detectives about the incident.

Detectives say investigations are ongoing.

Update:

Merseyside Police say a 33 year old man has now been charged with murder. While a 40 year old woman has been bailed pending further enquiries.

33-year-old Kevin Thomas Jones of Brainerd Street, Tuebrook has been remanded to appear at Knowsley Magistrates Court later.
